On a beautiful day in Bluffton, South Carolina, Kaitlyn and Aaron spent one of the most important days of their lives surrounded by friends and families in celebration. They exchanged vows in a Jewish ceremony under a canopy of mossy live oaks, a scene almost too beautiful to be real! We loved getting to know this adorable couple leading up to the wedding. As wedding photographers, we considered ourselves lucky to have such a charming bride and groom to photograph at an elegantly Southern wedding venue like Rose Hill Mansion.
Prepping for the Big Day With Her Bridesmaids
One of the many perks of getting married at the Rose Hill Mansion is the charming room set aside for the bride to get ready with her closest ladies and bridesmaids. The team at Bride’s Side Beauty emphasized Kaitlyn’s natural beauty with a soft touch of makeup and a wispy updo. She looked absolutely gorgeous in her jaw dropping wedding gown as she excitedly put on the finishing touches with her giggling bridesmaids. They were so much fun and it was hilarious watching them get silly and jump on the bed with Kaitlyn before finally getting serious about getting ready for the big day!
Peeking Before the Ceremony for the First Look
Kaitlyn and Aaron wanted their bridal party to enjoy as much of the cocktail hour as possible, so we planned a first look before the ceremony. First looks give the couple a few intimate moments alone to admire each other for the first time on their wedding day. The look on Aaron’s face as he saw Kaitlyn in her breathtaking gown for the first time made every moment of the first look worth it!
“It was important to my husband and I to have the wedding party enjoy as much of cocktail hour as possible. With that being said we decided to do a “first look”… Lisa did a great job keeping things moving and creating great natural shots.” – Kaitlyn
After we gave them time to take it all in, we were able to take their wedding portraits together and most of the group photos before the ceremony even started. Taking care of these important photos early on made it easier for Kaitlyn and Aaron to spend more time with their guests at the reception. Spending a few quiet moments alone with your beloved AND more time to celebrate at your own reception? Yes, please!
Beautiful Jewish Ceremony Under Southern Mossy Live Oaks
Under the romantic moss-covered live oaks, Kaitlyn and Aaron couldn’t stop smiling as Kaitlyn’s father walked her down the aisle to stand by her soon-to-be-husband in front of Rabbi Arthur Segal. With family and friends happy to be part of their day, the newly wedded couple kissed for the first time as husband and wife… and then again as they made their way down the aisle together!
Celebrating With an Outdoor Reception on the Open Air Dance Floor
With perfect weather, an outdoor reception among the Southern scenery perfectly accompanied the romantic ceremony. Guests enjoyed a delicious wedding dinner under a spacious tent with gorgeous decor designed by Celebrations Catering and Events. Every detail from the pink floral centerpieces to the rustic chairs to the stunning naked cake with floral accents added to the elegance of Kaitlyn and Aaron’s Southern wedding.
When the sun started to set, the string lights framed the dance floor creating a fun, romantic atmosphere. The bride and groom spent the rest of the evening dancing along with the upbeat wedding band, celebrating the official start to their lives together surrounded by their loving family and friends.
“Everyone keeps telling us this is the most beautiful wedding they have been to and that it looked like a fairytale. For me – it really felt like a fairytale – Everything was just beyond my dreams.” – Kaitlyn
“Our wedding day was the most spectacular day and we have the pictures to prove it!” – Kaitlyn
