One such classic Southern venue is none other than the Montage Palmetto Bluff, a gorgeous resort with an extensive nature preserve, two vibrant villages, several restaurants, and a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course. Located between Hilton Head Island and Savannah, alongside the May River in South Carolina’s Lowcountry, Montage Palmetto Bluff features over a dozen lovely, versatile spaces for wedding ceremonies and receptions, including:

  • The May River Chapel, overlooking the May River and featuring arched windows, this chapel’s charming, understated design provides space for up to 120 guests.
  • The Oak Ballroom with colonial architecture and French doors and windows, this ballroom can seat up to 165 guests.
  • The Wine Cellar is perfect for private parties of up to 48,  with its cozy lounge area, stone fireplace, and original artwork by local artists.
  • The Canoe Club was built to mimic the inside of a ship, with an arched ceiling and stunning water views.
  • The Village Green, located steps from the May River Chapel and home to the historic ruins of the Wilson Mansion, is perfect for an outdoor tent, and can hold up to 500 guests.
  • The Wilson Lawn & Racquet Club is an expansive country club with tennis and bocce courts, and is an ideal outdoor reception venue for up to 250 guests.
  • Grace Yacht is a 60-foot one-of-a-kind setting built in 1913 and lovingly restored to provide couples with an intimate, romantic setting with unrivaled views of the May River’s natural beauty. Guests may even catch a glimpse of the River’s frequent visitors–dolphins and seabirds.
